Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Dept position at a busy level 2 trauma teaching hospital in NY requiring an active NY RN license and advanced certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department of a 349-bed acute care teaching hospital
• Population includes diverse emergency and trauma cases
• Level 2 trauma center environment
• Uses Cerner EMR with experience preferred
• Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Alternating weekends and holiday rotation required
• Provide emergency nursing care for a variety of acute and trauma cases
• Work as part of an experienced ED team in a fast-paced setting
• Modules must be completed prior to assignment start
• Holiday and weekend shifts are shared among staff
• Local candidates are accepted but may be subject to a different pay rate if within 60 miles
• Previous employees may require an eligibility review for rehire
• Scrub requirements are not specified

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA only accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ED nursing experience required
• CEN or TNCC certifications preferred
• If any required certification expires during the assignment, proof of renewal or scheduled course required
• Two professional references from prior year in the current specialty are required for consideration
