Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a travel Emergency Department position requiring recent Epic EMR use and current trauma certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department of a large, teaching hospital
• Care for diverse emergency patient populations including trauma cases
• 12-hour rotating day and night shifts with flexibility required
• Minimum of every other weekend and required to work 2 out of the 4 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Day
• No block scheduling is permitted
• Bi-weekly orientations are held on Mondays
• Reliable personal transportation is strongly recommended as public transportation is not available
• Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November to April
• Candidates must be flexible to meet the needs of the unit and patient care demands
• No block time off requests will be approved
• Team members work collaboratively to provide emergency care in a high-acuity, high-volume setting

Requirements

• Active VT or compact state RN license
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required prior to start
• At least 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
• Experience working in large (500+ bed), teaching hospitals is required
• Epic EMR experience within the last 2 years is required and nonnegotiable
• Prior travel experience required unless candidate has large, teaching facility experience with more than one ED
• Must provide proof of all required certifications and explain any employment gaps over 90 days
