Travel Registered Nurse – Adult Chemical Dependency Unit
Location: St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center (D4 Wing)
Unit: Adult Chemical Dependency

🚫 Requirements:

Must NOT be a former employee of St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center
Traveler must be willing to float to:
- Inpatient Adult Behavioral Health
- Detox Units
No consideration will be given to:
- Candidates with active licensure issues
- Background check hits

🧠 Unit Overview:

The Adult Chemical Dependency Unit provides 24/7 care to patients aged 15 and older dealing with physiological dependency on:

Alcohol
Opiates
Benzodiazepines
Barbiturates
Other substances

Many patients present with co-occurring psychiatric conditions, including:

Depression
Psychosis
Bipolar Disorder

🩺 Key Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive admission interviews and systematic physical assessments
Develop and revise individualized care plans
Perform direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members
Document patient conditions, interventions, and outcomes
Educate patients and lead/facilitate therapeutic groups

✅ Certifications Required:

BLS (Basic Life Support) – REQUIRED
CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) – REQUIRED

➤ Must be trained and able to demonstrate competency in:

Application of restraints
Implementation of seclusion
Ongoing patient assessment and care while in restraint/seclusion
Competency must be validated by the agency employing the RN.

📋 Experience Required:

Behavioral Health Nursing Experience – REQUIRED
