Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in Washington, DC, requiring a DC RN license and prior travel experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a short-term acute care hospital setting on a 16-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Patient ratio is 1:5
• Night shift position working 3x12-hour shifts from 18:30 to 7:00
• Every other weekend is required, totaling 6 weekend shifts during the contract
• Expected to float to units of equal or lower acuity as needed
• Uses Cerner for charting and Pyxis for medication administration
• Cares for patients requiring telemetry, cardiac monitoring, feeding tube care, and IV therapy including PICC line management
• Must be willing to work the Thanksgiving holiday if scheduled
• Charge nurse experience is preferred but not required
• Holiday coverage availability is required for consideration
• Candidates located within 60 miles may be considered as local
• Parking is available for a fee

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required or proof of pending status accepted with license in hand prior to start date
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and perform MS/Tele and IV therapy skills
