Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg unit position in Wisconsin with telemetry and cardiac drip management experience required.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a 53-bed Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
• Typical patient ratio may be up to 1:7-8
• Shift is 8-hour PMs from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm with every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Candidates may be required to float to other nearby hospitals and similar units as needed
• No on-call or call-back responsibilities
• Charting is done using Epic EMR and recent experience is required
• Role requires strong documentation skills, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Team values hard-working, resilient, and social candidates
• Scrub color is not restricted; any color is acceptable
• Orientation provided at start of contract
• Unit observes holiday staffing rotations
• Floating to other nearby hospitals and similar units will be required based on census

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification is required
• 3-5 years of Med/Surg nursing experience in a short-term acute care hospital required
• Must have completed at least one prior traveler contract (preferred)
• Proficiency managing non-titratable cardiac and insulin drips required
• Must be able to interpret telemetry
• Epic charting experience within the last 12 months is required
• COVID-19 vaccine required unless medical or religious exemption applies
