Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg unit specializing in acute care surgical and bariatric cases with a night shift schedule and strict patient ratios.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care surgical and bariatric unit within a hospital
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (18:30-07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratios of 1:7
• Floating to other units as required
• Med/Surg and telemetry patient populations
• Participation in the education and support of nursing students is expected alongside clinical duties
• General orientation begins on Sundays and includes 16 hours of nonbillable orientation with 4-5 hours of modules
• Candidates must not have prior engagements scheduled during the 12-14 days before start date to allow for required labs
• Scrub and dress code requirements pertaining to fit testing may apply
• First time travelers are welcome to apply
• No local candidates are accepted per a 100-mile radius rule

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years Med/Surg and telemetry experience required
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required
• Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility
• Fit testing according to CDC guidelines requires facial hair to be trimmed or removed
• Candidates must complete drug testing within 12-14 days prior to start and be available for a second test if needed
