Job Description

The Step-Down RN will work in the ED-HOLD unit, providing care for patients who require additional observation for up to 23 hours. The RN may be required to float to units with PCU patients and possibly to the Elmer unit, managing a variety of patient needs including trach care, bariatric patients, nocturnal ventilation, and stroke care, with a patient ratio of 1:5 for Step-Down/PCU and 1:6 if floated to acute care.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality nursing care for patients in Step-Down and PCU settings.
• Monitor patient conditions and administer medications as needed.
• Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
• Document patient care activities accurately.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a Step-Down or PCU unit.
• Current NJ or compact nursing license.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (AHA only).
