Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring night shifts, BLS, CPI, and NIH certifications, with mandatory holiday and weekend coverage.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Med/Surg Tele boarder unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes boarders from all units except critical care
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend and holidays are required as scheduled
• Floating within the hospital is required, with travelers given first priority to float
• Boarder unit supports all patient types except those in critical care
• Candidates must be comfortable floating to different units within their scope of experience
• Holiday coverage is mandatory as scheduled by the unit
• Block schedules or schedule restrictions are not permitted or guaranteed
• Return travelers must have been away at least 6 months from the system, and former staff must be gone for 12 months before returning as travelers
• Most locations allow one contract and one extension before requiring a six-month break from the facility or unit

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
• Current BLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications are required
• ACLS certification is preferred
• At least two satisfactory professional references from most recent employers, including one supervisor or manager and one charge RN
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
