Med/Surg RN Job Details

Location: Wichita, KS 67214 (Kansas healthcare jobs)
Facility Setting: Acute Care – Medical/Surgical & General Surgery Unit
Assignment Start Date: December 22, 2025
Assignment End Date: March 23, 2026
Contract Duration: 13-week travel nursing assignment
Shift: 12-hour nights (7P - 7A)
Weekly Hours: 36
Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1360 - $1460
Employment Type: Travel RN contract

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Kansas or compact state)
At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
Experience with pre- and post-operative inpatient care
Skilled in wound care and management of central lines (PICC, port, CVC)
Strong communication and compassionate patient care skills
Proficiency with Meditech EMR preferred

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients on a 36-bed Medical/Surgical unit
Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions; administer medications and treatments
Support patients undergoing general surgeries (hernia repair, colon resection, thyroidectomy, complex wound procedures)
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team (RNs, LPNs, patient care technicians, unit clerks)
Operate and manage wound vacs, NG tubes, chest tubes, and other acute care equipment
Ensure patient safety and compliance with hospital policies and unit guidelines
