Job Title: Behavioral Health LVN/LPN – Mids

Employment Type: Contract – W2
Location: Abilene, Texas
 

Overview:
We are seeking experienced LVNs/LPNs for a 6-month contract on the mids shift at a large, 269-bed state-supported living center. This role provides care for individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health needs in a skilled nursing/intermediate care setting.

Orientation & Schedule:

• Orientation Start: Must be able to start 11/3 at 7:45 AM
• Contract Length: 26 weeks
• Hours per Week: 40 hours
• Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM, rotating
• Weekends: 3 weekends per month (or every other weekend, based on schedule)
• Floating: Nurses may be pulled to other units as needed; initial orientation includes multiple assignments

Requirements:

• Active Texas LVN/LPN licensure
• Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care or long-term care settings
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with peers, DSPs, PCPs, and residents
• American Heart Association CPR Card
• Compliance with HHSC immunization requirements
• Completion of HHSC-required drug testing and fingerprinting
• Completion of facility- and HHSC-required training
• COVID-19 vaccination required

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care for residents with behavioral health and intellectual disabilities
• Communicate effectively with the care team and residents
• Adhere to facility and HHSC policies and procedures
• Participate in floating assignments as needed to meet staffing requirements
