Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a high-risk Labor & Delivery position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring a CT or compact RN license and advanced certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a high-risk Labor & Delivery unit within a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma hospital
• Night shift, typically 3x12 hour shifts with required on-call hours (16 hours per 6-week block)
• Every other weekend is required, with no accommodation for block schedules
• Clinicians may float within scope to meet unit needs
• Uses Epic EMR; prior Epic experience is required
• Scrubs are provided
• Patient care performed in a large academic medical center with more than 1000 beds
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Returning permanent staff must be gone for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• No local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius
• Up to 7 days of time off (RTO) can be auto-approved; more than 7 days requires approval
• Must participate in any natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
• Parking is available for $125 per month
• One professional reference is required for consideration

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license (pending accepted if active before start date)
• At least 2 years of recent high-risk Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Current AWHONN, NRP, and BLS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience in a trauma center and large facility required
• No prior disciplinary action on nursing license
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required (medical/religious exemption only)
