Job Description

The Interventional Radiology Technologist demonstrates proficiency in selecting exposure factors, positioning, and producing high-quality diagnostic images. This role involves working collaboratively with department members to quickly resolve issues while maintaining a focus on patient rights and care.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and prepare patients for examinations and assist the Radiologist during procedures.
• Operate all related equipment competently and report malfunctions promptly.
• Complete all assigned procedures in a timely manner and assist others during downtime to optimize department operations.
• Maintain medication security in accordance with established protocols.
• Demonstrate competency in providing healthcare services across all age groups.
• Utilize Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS effectively.
• Participate in hospital performance improvement activities as needed.
• Provide technical support over the phone to physicians and hospital personnel while ensuring good phone etiquette.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification (American Heart Association ONLY)
• Two years of relevant experience.
• NYS License (or able to obtain prior to start).
• VIR Certification preferred.
