Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a unique Med/Surg Tele Hospital at Home position requiring both in-home and Command Center care with a current NJ or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Provides care for Med/Surg and telemetry patients in a Hospital at Home model
• Approximately 50% in-home patient visits and 50% remote monitoring from the Command Center in Pennsauken
• Serves as a care coordinator at five designated locations when not performing home visits
• Floats to Longitudinal Monitoring (LRM) and TDC tele discharge coordination as needed
• Required to float among five hospitals in the system based on need
• Works four 12-hour shifts per week, with rotating hours of 7:00am-7:00pm and 10:00am-10:00pm
• Includes every other weekend and every other holiday coverage
• Acts as a key care coordinator, monitoring patient care remotely and responding in person as needed
• Expected to float to other units such as ER, PCU, ICU, and High Risk Obstetric Unit as directed
• First-time travelers are accepted but not preferred
• Must be able to scrub within unit specialty if assigned
• Orientation includes completion of modules specific to specialty
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Not able to apply as a travel pair—individual applications only

Requirements

• Active NJ or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele experience within the past 12 months
• Current BLS certification required
• Valid driver's license required
• Experience in lines and drains, IV insertion, and phlebotomy required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility
• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required at time of consideration with no exemptions accepted
• Must pass a dysrhythmia test during orientation
• RTO must be submitted with application—no RTO permitted within the first week
