Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our fast-paced Labor and Delivery unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and the ability to manage a busy workload, as the unit handles over 300 births monthly with high acuity. The RN will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to obstetrical patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to laboring patients through assessment, triage, and management of high-risk obstetrical patients.
• Conduct sterile vaginal exams and pain assessments, supporting pain management strategies.
• Circulate for C-sections and participate in emergency care scenarios.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation utilizing the Epic charting system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Manage IV therapy and phlebotomy as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Labor and Delivery setting or high-volume similar environment is required; 3 years preferred.
• Current certifications in AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, and NRP are required.
• Experience in labor and delivery management; circulating for C-sections is preferred.
• Ability to work in a high-paced environment with a patient ratio of 1:2.
• Float required as needed to support special maternity care units.
