Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position requiring Massachusetts RN licensure, BLS certification, and neuro assessment skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a 32-bed Ortho/Neuro Med/Surg telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes elective orthopedic, neuro/surgical, fracture, and medical overflow cases
• Typical clinician-to-patient ratios are 1:4 or 1:5 on days/evenings and 1:5 or 1:6 at night
• Work schedule consists of 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, including every other weekend
• Travelers are required to float to applicable units as needed
• EPIC is used as the EMR system
• Must be able to read telemetry strips and perform comprehensive neuro assessments
• Vaccinations for COVID-19 and influenza are required without exceptions
• Orientation provided on hospital protocols and EPIC charting system
• First-time travelers are not specified; applicants should confirm eligibility based on travel experience
• Work attire and dress code will be specified by the unit upon assignment
• Floating may include similar Med/Surg and telemetry units
• Local candidates must reside at least 60 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required; conditional or pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum two years of recent Med/Surg and telemetry RN experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA accepted)
• ACLS preferred (AHA accepted)
• Ability to perform neuro assessments and interpret telemetry strips
• Proof of completed COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required with no exemptions permitted
