Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a MT or compact RN license and recent ED experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Emergency Department setting
• Handle a broad range of emergency cases and patient acuity levels
• Mid shift schedule options (11a-11p, 1p-1a, 2p-2a, or 3p-3a) on a 12-hour, 3 shifts per week basis
• EPIC EMR is used for charting and documentation
• Potential to float to other departments as needed based on competency
• May have on-call responsibilities during regularly scheduled shifts
• Perform independent nursing functions in the ED including assessment, planning, and evaluation of care
• Provide supportive and restorative therapy and treatment to a diverse patient population
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and carry out delegated medical functions
• Document patient care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines
• May be required to work with various teams and support facilities' mission, vision, and values
• All orientation, background, and drug screening requirements must be completed two weeks prior to start

Requirements

• Active MT or compact state RN license required at time of application
• Minimum of 1 year recent Emergency Department RN experience
• ASN from an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Current American Heart Association BLS required
• ACLS, NRP, or PALS certifications may be required based on unit needs
• All certifications must be active and valid through assignment start
• Experience with EPIC EMR system preferred
