Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ED Observation Telemetry position in an acute care setting requiring active WA or compact licensure and strong med/surg telemetry skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in an ED Observation unit with telemetry in an acute care hospital setting
• Patient population includes medical/surgical and telemetry cases with typical daily census of 8-16 patients
• Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4
• Night shifts are 7:00 pm to 7:30 am with every other weekend required
• Float as first priority to similar units within multiple regional hospitals as needed
• Standby may be required
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• EMR system used is Epic
• Responsible for monitoring and interpreting telemetry strips independently
• Provide care for patients boarding in the ED awaiting inpatient beds
• Orientation is one day department-specific
• Unit supports with charge nurse, aides, and in-house security
• Lab draws performed by nursing staff
• House transporters assist with patient transportation for imaging
• No holiday coverage required
• Candidates cannot have been employed by any CommonSpirit affiliate (including CHI or Dignity) in the past year as full time, part time, or PRN staff
• First time travelers are accepted

Requirements

• Active WA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licensure not accepted
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in med/surg telemetry nursing
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred
• COVID vaccination is required
• Must provide two professional references: one supervisor reference from the last 12 months, and one peer or supervisor reference from the past 3 years
