Schedule: Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays | 10:00 AM – 11:00 PM (On-call included)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate CT Technologist to join our imaging team. This role involves performing high-quality CT scans while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, technical expertise, and a commitment to service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Communication

Communicate effectively with patients and families before, during, and after procedures to reduce anxiety and maintain dignity.
Verify patient identification in accordance with AHS policy.
Monitor patient condition before and after contrast administration; report changes to nursing staff and radiologist.
Assess patient tolerance for contrast and screen for allergies or medication incompatibilities.

Clinical & Technical Duties

Perform CT procedures following established protocols and safety standards.
Maintain sterility of instruments and field during procedures.
Prepare accurate requisitions and ensure availability of medical records, labs, and prior imaging.
Initiate emergency response protocols when necessary.
Adhere to venipuncture and power injector protocols.

Equipment & Inventory Management

Clean and maintain CT equipment, gantry, and scanning rooms after each use.
Maintain adequate supplies of linen, contrast media, and biopsy/drainage tools.
Participate in daily inventory and restocking; notify Lead of expired or soon-to-expire items.
Report equipment malfunctions and unusual operating conditions promptly.

Workflow Coordination (Point Staff Duties)

Triage and prioritize procedures based on daily schedule and emergent needs.
Coordinate emergency and unscheduled procedures efficiently.
Assign staff to maintain workflow and ensure patient safety.
Communicate with departments and floors regarding patient status and transport.

Quality Assurance

Maintain QA/QC standards per daily, monthly, and ACR specifications.
Ensure timely image acquisition, processing, and PACS/RIS completion for urgent cases (e.g., Code Grey, Trauma).
Notify radiologist of critical findings and unusual results to support optimal patient care.

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or GED required.
Completion of an accredited Radiography program (School of Radiography or College-based).

Certifications & Licensure

ARRT RT (R)
ARRT RT (CT)
NJDEP – New Jersey State X-Ray License
BLS Certification
