Travel Ultrasound Sonographer - Wausau, WI
Contract Length: 7 Weeks
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM (Variable PM Shift)
On-Call: Approx. 3 weeknights per month (12:00 AM - 6:45 AM) and 2 weekends during contract (Fri midnight - Mon 6:45 AM)
Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Rotating weekends and holidays
Weekly Compensation: Up to $3,150 (based on experience)
Connected Health Care, a leading recruitment and staffing firm, is seeking an experienced Travel Ultrasound Sonographer for a 7-week contract with one of our top healthcare partners in Wausau, Wisconsin . This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled sonographer to work in a reputable hospital setting, providing vital imaging services to patients in a supportive and well-equipped environment.
Position Overview:
The Ultrasound Sonographer will perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, specializing in obstetric, gynecological, and abdominal imaging. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, technical proficiency, and experience across all trimesters of OB sonography, including neonatal and pediatric imaging.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams for OB/GYN, abdominal, and vascular studies.
Conduct 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester OB exams, including pylorus, appendix, and fetal brain imaging from NICU.
Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to interpret results and support accurate diagnoses.
Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring quality imaging and patient safety.
Accurately document procedures and patient information within the Epic charting system.
Adhere to departmental protocols, infection control standards, and HIPAA compliance.
Participate in rotating on-call coverage as required for evening and weekend shifts.
Provide compassionate care and ensure patient comfort throughout each procedure.

Education and Certification Requirements:

Required:
- Active ARDMS certification in OB/GYN and Abdomen (ABD)
- Current AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Minimum of 2 years of ultrasound experience
- Demonstrated experience in all trimesters of OB , including NICU imaging (pylorus, appendix, fetal brain)
Preferred:
- Experience using Epic for charting and documentation
- Prior travel or hospital-based experience

Schedule & Work Environment:

Evening shifts (Monday-Friday, 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM)
Rotating weekends and holidays
On-call coverage approximately 3 weeknights and 2 weekends per contract
45-minute on-call response time
