Night shift from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, with every other weekend required.

Job Description

The position involves providing care in a Cardiac Step Down/Progressive Care Unit. Responsibilities include trach care, managing patients with bariatric needs, nocturnal ventilation, and stroke care. The nurse will care for 1 patient for every 5 beds in the Step Down unit, and may float to acute care with a ratio of 1:6.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients in a Cardiac PCU, including those who are post-operative and stroke patients.
• Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders.
• Assist with trach care and management of nocturnal vents.
• Monitor patient vitals and report any changes in condition.
• Float to Elmer as needed within specialty units.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Step Down/PCU unit.
• Cardiac and Telemetry experience required.
• Current NJ nursing license or compact license.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA only).
