Duration:13 weeks

Shift: Day Shift, 5x8-Hour (08:00 AM - 04:00 PM) (4*10-hour days if needed)

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

• Provide physical therapy services in an acute care hospital setting.
• Perform patient assessments including AROM/AAROM/PROM, strength testing, pain assessment, sensory response, and skin integrity evaluation.
• Monitor vital signs during treatment.
• Utilize assistive devices such as crutches, rolling walkers, hospital beds, call lights, bed alarms, sliding boards, and Hoyer lifts.
• Treat patients with cardiopulmonary, neurologic, orthopedic, and geriatric conditions.
• Manage patient populations including post-surgery, post-stroke, vestibular disorders, and cardiopulmonary diagnoses such as COPD, CHF, and MI.
• Develop and implement treatment plans including long-term goals and home exercise programs.
• Conduct patient and family education focusing on safety, injury prevention, and signs of abuse.
• Document assessments, evaluations, plans of care, and reassessments using any charting system.
• Handle billing processes for Medicare A and B.

Requirements:

• BLS
• State license as a Physical Therapist
• Acute care experience required

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with vestibular therapy, cognitive disorders, dementia/Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, post-stroke rehabilitation, and use of Hoyer lifts.
• Knowledge of cardiopulmonary conditions and geriatric patient care.

Work Setting:

• Acute Care Hospital, adult and geriatric patient populations.
