TIG Welder - Days/Nights

Join a dynamic sheet metal shop known for its diverse projects, ranging from metal cabinets to carpet cleaning trucks and water tanks. We are seeking skilled TIG welders to join our team, capable of passing a basic 2G weld test on stainless steel and proficient in TIG welding 18 to 20 gauge materials.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding on 18 gauge - 20 gauge stainless steel.
• Set up and operate welding machines effectively.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics accurately.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including wearing PPE such as a welding hood, gloves, leathers, earplugs, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in TIG welding, particularly on stainless steel and aluminum.
• Experience in blueprint and schematic reading.
• Ability to set up welding equipment independently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with 12 gauge - 24 gauge materials.
• Capability to pass a TIG test (box test).
• Possession of personal welding gear, including a hood, shield, and steel-toed shoes.

Work Environment

Work in a small, clean job shop that specializes in stainless steel projects. The shop operates with a team of 20 welders and offers both day and night shifts. Day shift runs Monday through Thursday from 5:00 am to 3:30 pm, and night shift runs from 3:30 pm to 2:00 am, with a 10% shift differential for night hours.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Salt Lake, Utah.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00/hr.
