Telemetry Monitor Technician - Non-Certified

Position Summary: As a key member of our healthcare team, you will support nursing staff by transcribing physician orders in urgent situations. Your primary responsibilities include continuously observing, documenting, and reporting cardiac rhythm status on telemetry monitors. You will also perform clerical duties to maintain accurate unit records and act as the communication hub for the nursing unit.

Essential Duties:

• Transcribe physician's orders accurately during emergent scenarios.
• Continuously monitor and document cardiac rhythms.
• Ensure unit records are precise and organized.
• Serve as a communication center for nursing staff.
• Assist with additional duties as assigned by the Director, Clinical Manager, or Clinical Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of Basic Dysrhythmias courses within three months of employment is required. Medical Terminology knowledge is preferred.
• Certification/ Licenses: BLS certification through the American Heart Association is preferred.
• Skills: Experience in cardiac monitoring, basic computer and typing skills, excellent phone etiquette, strong spelling abilities, and proficiency in English are essential. Experience with facsimile and duplication equipment is a plus.
• Experience: One year of experience in a hospital setting is preferred.

Supervision: You will report directly to the Director or Clinical Manager.

Work Environment: You may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens. Protective equipment will be provided by the hospital, and its maintenance will be taken care of.

Physical Requirements: This position mainly involves long periods of sitting with some tasks requiring standing and walking. Candidates must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and assist in transferring patients weighing over 200 pounds using a wheelchair. You will be expected to multitask in a dynamic environment while listening to multiple conversations.
