Our client, an educational organization dedicated to fostering academic and social success, is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their team. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be part of the South Bronx Job Corps supporting students in their educational journey. The ideal candidate will demonstrate patience, strong communication skills, and a passion for helping students succeed, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Teaching Assistant

Location: Bronx, NY

Pay Range: $30

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:30 pm (1 hour lunch)

What's the Job?

• Accurately take and maintain attendance records for all students.
• Oversee young adults in the classroom to ensure their safety and engagement during lessons and activities.
• Assist students with limited English proficiency by providing clear translations and explanations of classroom materials and instructions.
• Work closely with the classroom teacher to implement lesson plans and support the class's educational goals.
• Promote positive behavior among students and address any issues that arise in a constructive manner.

What's Needed?

• Previous experience working with young adults in an educational or mentoring capacity.
• Proficiency in English and at least one other language (preferably the language spoken by the students needing translation).
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and staff.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed academically and socially.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
