Tax Reviewer

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tax Reviewer to join our team. This position involves reviewing various types of tax returns, including partnerships, corporations, and individual tax returns, ensuring their accuracy and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review tax returns for accuracy, completeness, and conformance with tax rules, laws, and regulations.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for all tax-related items.
• Handle special projects, including tax audits, tax planning strategies, and additional CFO work.
• Facilitate advanced tax research and resolve complex tax issues.
• Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
• Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
• Communicate with clients to gather information about a project's scope, budgets, and timelines.
• Collaborate with outside departments to gather information and improve processes when identified.
• Meet with other executives to discuss clients' project goals, progress, and outcomes.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in accounting, tax preparation, tax return, and tax planning.
• Experience with QuickBooks and Lacerte 1040 Tax Analyzer.
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• 5+ years of progressive tax experience, with a portion in reviewing tax returns.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA or MBA preferred.
• Efficient, accurate, and deadline-driven.
• Experience with other financial systems.
• Lacerte and QuickBooks preferred but not required.

Work Environment

This role is based in a cubicle-driven office environment, which is production and time-sensitive.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Des Moines, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $48.08/hr.
