Surgical Technology Specialist

Surgical technologists are key allied health professionals who work closely with surgeons to ensure all surgical operations are conducted seamlessly. Your expertise in aseptic techniques, human anatomy, and surgical instruments will help facilitate challenging surgical procedures and enhance patient care.

Your Role:

• Assist in preparing for surgical procedures by ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available.
• Maintain safety for patients and equipment, correctly handle and label all specimens.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to keep the operating room stocked responsibly.
• Prepare the surgical site under the guidance of a registered nurse while keeping the surgical team informed about the procedure status.
• Commit to your personal and professional growth by attending training sessions and staying updated on policies and procedures.
• Promote teamwork within the operating room for the best patient outcomes.
• Maintain sterile fields to assure quality patient care, adhering to aseptic standards and reporting any disruptions in technique.
• Apply sterile techniques proficiently during surgeries.

Qualifications:

Education: Must be a graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program or a similar formal program.

Experience: 1-2 years of experience preferred with certification as a surgical technician.

Licensure: LCC-ST certification must be obtained within one year of hire if not certified.

Special Skills: Strong understanding of sterile and aseptic techniques, human anatomy, and surgical instrumentation across various procedures.

Physical Demands: Must be able to stand for 90% of the workday, lift up to 36 pounds, work under stress, and adapt to temperature variations.
