Surgical Services Nurse Manager

The Nurse Manager is accountable for effectively directing and organizing the operations of surgical services to guarantee patient care is in alignment with our institution's goals. This role encompasses 24-hour responsibility for ensuring patient and staff satisfaction while overseeing sound fiscal management.

Qualifications

EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. A BSN is required for all appointments made after 8/31/2002, while a Master's degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE
3 to 5 years of leadership experience.

LICENSURE
Must be a licensed and registered nurse in the State of Connecticut. Newly hired Registered Nurses must hold a current BCLS certification or acquire it within one month of hire.

SPECIAL SKILLS
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, adept analytical abilities for data interpretation, demonstrated capability to manage change, and proficiency in multitasking. Successful completion of required annual courses is essential.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job responsibilities include prolonged standing, walking, utilizing sight, hearing, and touch, and moving/lifting patients of varying weights.

Additional Information

This position will oversee the Main Operating Room, PACU, and Urology departments.

A minimum of 3 years of Operating Room RN experience and previous leadership experience in an OR setting are required.
