Summary

The Federal Reserve Board (Board) provides students opportunities for career success. The Board's Internship program is designed to provide valuable work experience for undergraduate and graduate students considering careers including, but not limited to, economics, finance and accounting, information systems, and data analysis. The Board believes that by combining academic endeavors with project-related work experience, qualified and capable college students can gain the practical knowledge need in a competitive global job market. Internships are paid positions with salaries commensurate with credit hours; internships may be in-person, remote or hybrid, depending on the needs of the team. Employment in the Board's internship program is granted to U.S. citizens. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university and returning to continue studies after the internship. Interns receive a syllabus or research project plan outlining their projects and goals for the internship. Interns are assigned a supervisor or mentor to guide them through their internship, and regular check-in meetings with their manager to manage performance expectations and assist with learning goals. Interns have access to a wide range of training programs and events for professional development purposes.

Position Requirements

Description
Assisting with the Federal Reserve System Federal Law Enforcement Re-accreditation of its training program.
Maintaining the Accreditation file system; Compiling and revising Section Manuals/ Database; Performing research on Accreditation/Policy matters; Other accreditation tasks as directed. Assisting with the overhaul of the Protection Section's shared database including Law Enforcement call logs:

Updating the Protection Section Reference Information book. This book is used by the section as well as other LE managers throughout the FRS. Reference material would be from existing print documents and electronic; Gather all current, historical print and e-filed memorandums and update in proper folders on the Section's shared G Drive Documents Library. This would involve collecting and gathering emails, reports and files stored electronically and create or add to our Documents Library on the shared G drive; Revise and improve the data base system to better collect reportable data for training requirements with the BoG, FRS and referred to by the Federal Law Enforcement Accreditation Board; Enhance our reportable database program to better record and monitor our ongoing programs and initiatives.

Assisting with the Federal Reserve System's Law Enforcement Training Manual: Maintain/ reorganize training records; Other training tasks as directed; Attend system meetings and observe section duties. Assistance with coordination of a wide range of administrative projects in support of the Federal Reserve System's Law Enforcement Units.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative and analytical skills, with the ability to organize and manage detailed records, documents, and databases effectively. Attention to detail and accuracy in editing and proofreading are critical, as interns will regularly update Section Manuals, accreditation files, and shared resources such as SharePoint sites. Strong organizational skills are required for managing data libraries, compiling information into clear and usable formats, and supporting ongoing projects. Customer service and communication skills are essential for interacting with team members, responding to inquiries, and assisting with training-related requests. The intern should also demonstrate research ability, particularly in gathering and analyzing data to produce clear reports, graphs, and spreadsheets that support decision-making across the section.

Overview of Division, Section and Team : The selected intern will be joining the Protection Section within the RBOPS division. The division provides oversight of Federal Reserve System operations, and the Protection Section supports accreditation, record keeping, and law enforcement program administration.

Expected Projects: Assist in updating and maintaining SharePoint and dashboard sites to ensure accurate and accessible information for team members. Develop and manage Excel spreadsheets, including data entry, analysis, and graph creation to support reporting needs. Collaborate on team projects by compiling, organizing and presenting information.

Suggested Major/Minor: Criminal Justice or related fields.

Required Skills and Knowledge: Strong administrative and research skills, with the ability to organize, manage and analyze detailed information.

Preferred Skills : Attention to detail with proficiency in editing, proofreading, and document organization. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, SharePoint) is highly desirable.
