The Hematology Translational Medicine group seeks a talented and highly motivated student interested in a summer internship that offers hands-on translational research experience in a team-oriented, fast paced environment. The student, working closely with a mentor, will be assigned an exciting translational project to understand how various biomarkers from lymphoma clinical trials help understand mechanisms of action and resistance, biology of disease and inform clinical development. During the 10-week internship, the student will analyze biomarkers, develop critical thinking and presentation skills, and learn more about drug development and lymphoma biology. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, have enthusiasm for working with complex data sets and for learning how biomarkers inform clinical development.

Key responsibilities include:

• Actively contribute to experimental design and execution of a translational project, which is aligned with Hematology Translational Medicine
• Participate in BMS student internship requirements
• Literature/data review to understand project context, impact and timely communication of data
• Present internship project to the Translational Medicine group at the conclusion of the internship

Qualifications and experience include:

• Current student majoring in field related to biomedical sciences (cellular and molecular immunology, oncology, hematology)
• Interpersonal and collaboration skills, including the willingness and ability to foster working relationships with a range of stakeholders and work independently. Flexible to changing priorities.
• Prior experience in analyzing and graphing tabular data (e.g. flow cytometry) is preferred. On-site attendance at least 50% of time
• All candidates must be authorized to work in the US both at the time of hire and for the duration of their employment. Please note that immigration or visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• Available full time (40hrs/week) throughout the internship period (early June through mid-August).

This is a temporary, time-bound position intended for the duration of the internship or co-op program. Employment in this role does not imply or guarantee ongoing or permanent employment with BMS.

The starting hourly compensation for this assignment is within the range of $27.00 to $29.00/hr. Please note that the final individual compensation and any applicable benefits will be determined by your employer of record (and not BMS). Factors influencing this decision may include the characteristics of the assignment, such as demonstrated experience, required skill, and the geographic location of the job.
