Electrical Engineer
Kimley-Horn's Orlando, Florida (FL) office is seeking an experienced electrical engineer or engineer in training with 2+ years of substation protection & controls experience to join their power delivery team.
Responsibilities
Support P&C design project deliverables, ranging from 4kV up to 500kV (with a particular emphasis on 115kV voltages and above). Produce detailed substation P&C design packages, compliant to required client and national technical standards. Core design responsibilities include:
- One-line diagrams
- Three-line diagrams
- Potential and current schematics
- Control and indication schematics
- Communication interconnections
- Wiring diagrams
- Equipment sizing and specifications
- I/O mapping
- Construction documentation / outage sequencing
- Procurement and construction support
Qualifications
- 2+ years of protection & control engineering design experience in the electricity transmission & distribution sector
- ETAP experience is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (advanced degrees are a plus)
- EIT or ability to obtain within 6 months required
- Proficient with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
