Operations Sub Team Player

Subs must submit a Sub Availability Form upon hire and complete a new form at least seven days in advance if their availability changes. They must maintain reasonable communication with club management and reply within 24 hours to accept or deny a work shift offered. Subs are expected to perform to their best abilities during their assigned work shift, monitor and maintain club cleanliness, and stay proficient in the Planet Fitness mobile app use, content, and updates. They must ensure that all proper training has been completed to operate safely and efficiently, conduct regular audits to ensure the club is presentable, and perform club walkarounds and complete assigned cleaning or associated tasks along with re-inspecting said tasks. Subs are also responsible for auditing and balancing cash drawers daily, properly inputting and updating member information, ensuring members adhere to the company's policies and guidelines, and providing a safe and secure environment for all members. They must communicate with members to create a high level of member service, stock retail and janitorial items for the following shift, and understand and adhere to company standards while helping resolve any day-to-day member issues. Subs are required to audit club inventory and communicate with GM, AM, and Shift Lead on recommendations of inventory orders, stay up to date on all required certifications and training courses, participate in team meetings, and communicate with, promote, tour, and assist prospects and potential members. They must assist the GM and AM with club membership promotions, training, and implementation of any operational strategies, ensure the club complies with all state and federal laws and insurance requirements, and operate and assist applicable members with the use of equipment, tanning, HydroMassage, Total Body Enhancement, and other amenities while making sure all applicable processes and procedures are adhered to. Subs must also assist GM and represent the company at community events and other outreach activities.

Qualifications include being at least 18 years of age, having a high school diploma or equivalent, and obtaining CPR and AED certifications before working alone. Subs must be comfortable standing for long periods of time, have great communication skills with internal and external customers, be team-oriented, motivated, and well-organized, and have the ability to think critically and evaluate solutions to problems proactively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and using a computer is required, as well as the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information. Subs must be familiar with Excel's mission, values, vision, and culture, as well as the Planet Fitness brand and operational requirements. This position has no supervisory responsibilities and operates in a fitness club environment, routinely using standard office and custodial equipment. The physical demands include regularly talking or hearing, frequently standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms, and occasionally sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Subs must frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. This is a part-time, nonexempt position with no set schedule but assigned work shifts based on availability and business needs. Subs must work no less than 4 hours per month and no more than 20 hours per week. Employment may be terminated if the Sub has not met the minimum schedule requirements, has not actively worked within the last 60 calendar days, or has declined three consecutive work shifts that they indicated they would be available to work on their Sub Availability Form. No travel is expected for this position.
