Accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for specialized medical services based on medical records, physician documentation, and regulatory guidelines.
Review and verify patient information for coding accuracy, ensuring that all relevant documentation supports the assigned codes.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures for accurate coding and billing processes.
Maintain compliance with coding standards, payer guidelines, and federal regulations to optimize revenue cycle management and reduce claim denials.
Perform audits and reviews of coded documentation to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement.

Candidate requirements

Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credential is required.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical coding, with a focus on specialty coding such as cardiology, oncology, or orthopedics.

Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems and medical terminology.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze complex medical documentation.

Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software.
