The Sr. Manager, Human Resources is responsible for supporting workforce planning and culture engagement initiatives, ensuring alignment with company objectives. Additionally, the Sr. Manager, Human Resources will support the oversight of recruitment within a shared services model and ensure HR compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws. The role is key to fostering an inclusive, high-performance workplace culture and supporting organizational success through strategic HR practices. This role is based in San Diego, CA, and reports to the Head of Human Resource.
Job Responsibilities
- Track and analyze HR metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement. Prepare and present reports to senior management.
- Partner with HR leadership to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices and legal requirements.
- Support the existing Compensation team by making recommendations for adjustments as needed.
- Foster a positive work environment through employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and promoting a culture of inclusivity and collaboration.
- Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
- Support the recruitment team in the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding of new hires to ensure a smooth and positive experience.
- Support onboarding processes and training.
- Ensure all company HR policies are applied consistently.
- Maintain company organization charts and employee directory.
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of HR experience, preferably in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
- Proven experience in employee relations, performance management, recruitment, and compensation and benefits administration.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
Compensation Overview: San Diego - RayzeBio - CA: $157,984 - $191,440
The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience. Benefit offerings are subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect and may include the following: Medical, pharmacy, dental and vision care. On-site Protocol
BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes site-essential, site-by-design, field-based and remote-by-design jobs. The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role: Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility. For these roles, onsite presence is considered an essential job function and is critical to collaboration, innovation, productivity, and a positive Company culture. For field-based and remote-by-design roles the ability to physically travel to visit customers, patients or business partners and to attend meetings on behalf of BMS as directed is an essential job function.
