We're growing rapidly and are looking for a Senior Java Developer with a passion for solving problems to join our Financial Services Retail Lending Security team. At CGI, you'll do more than just write code, you will solve challenging business and technical problems as a full-time consultant serving local, enterprise, credit compliance and focusing on security implementation.
The partner will analyze, triage, document decision made around software vulnerability scan results, assess client questions and generate responses, and implement/test software updates to resolve vulnerabilities. Primary focus will be on CGI Credit Studio (cloud native, micro services architecture) and management of security elements on-prem and in public cloud for development and client implementation programs. The member will be a part of a small team to support the Security function to capture and manage metrics, create reporting and work through other security tasks.
The preferred location for this role is Knoxville, Tennessee, but can be located anywhere in the U.S. including Belton. The partner will work East Coast hours.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
How you'll make an impact
In this exciting role, you will use Spring Frameworks with modern software engineering practices and respective tools. Work in a cross-functional agile scrum team, and be responsible for designing, developing, testing, demoing, and documenting enhancements to an enterprise web application. The Sr. Java Developer will also evaluate business features to determine the best approach for meeting the acceptance criteria within the existing application and be involved with the planning of sprints, sprint reviews/demos and be responsible for meeting software compliance and cyber security standards.
•Work closely with CGI security groups and program managers in development, implementation and maintenance to coordinate security activities needed to comply with security guidelines for the Financial Services Retail Lending section.
•Work with retail lending development teams to design, teams to design, develop, and test technical security solutions.
•Perform detailed security code reviews from other team members, provide feedback in a constructive manner, and make sure the team is following coding standards.
•Ensure the software meets or exceeds specified security standards and end user requirements.
•Contribute to continuously improving software engineering practices through identification and implementation of improvements.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
What you'll bring
•A command of cyber security risk and mitigation within application implementation and functionality.
•Minimum of seven years' hands on experience as a software developer with solid Java and Spring Framework fundamentals.
•Experience operating within cloud computing and components, e.g. with Kubernetes, Docker and Azure.
•Programming with Java, Spring Boot, encryption, OAuth, and SAML.
•Understanding and experience working in CI/CD environments and tools.
•Experience working in a cross-functional agile-scrum product development team.
•Experience with scripting and automation tools
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $99,200 - $173,500.
