Overview

As a Sr. Compensation Consultant, you will support compensation for the Kuiper business, Amazon’s initiative to provide fast, affordable broadband globally. This role will work directly with PXT Partners and Management to achieve objectives and provide hands-on assistance related to all areas of compensation. The successful candidate will partner with client-facing PXT Partners and Business Leaders to identify and address compensation issues, evangelize Amazon’s Total Compensation Philosophy and Strategy, and represent both client and corporate perspectives on compensation initiatives. You should be able to distill complex data into compelling business cases and be detailed and accurate in developing programs and completing projects.

Responsibilities

• Work on a variety of projects including program design, analysis, budgeting, and implementation of new programs.
• Perform deep analysis on the effectiveness and competitiveness of existing compensation programs and model the impact of alternatives and future programs.
• Partner with regional and global compensation teams on compensation issues and support various special compensation projects as needed.
• Provide guidance to the business and develop creative solutions on total compensation issues, including setting pay levels, base pay, annual incentive pay, and stock compensation.
• Consult with the business on job evaluations using market data and internal evaluation.
• Document processes and build compensation playbooks.
• Conduct custom surveys with key industry contacts as needed.
• Support strategy, design, policies, guidelines, and operationalization of key compensation concepts, gaining alignment across constituencies and stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Experience dealing with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment
• Minimum of 5 years experience in finance, compensation, or consulting with knowledge of core compensation terminology and best practices
• General compensation knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working across cross-functional teams and coaching junior staff
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools
• Experience delivering end-to-end projects independently
• Experience working with complex data sets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
