Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies
Located on the downtown Orlando campus, Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies opened in 2006, providing programs and services focused on the unique needs of women and newborns. Specialized care covers all facets of women's health, from comprehensive gynecological services and minimally invasive surgeries to obstetrics and high-risk pregnancies and births. The ideal candidate will have:
- Extensive experience in OB and High-Risk ultrasound , with a preference for those with Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) expertise
- The ability to perform emergent pediatric ultrasound exams as needed
- A commitment to excellence in patient care and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
• Works closely with Radiologist to perform diagnostic sonographic exams.
• Exercises professional judgment in performance ofservices and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
• Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
• Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
• Adheresto Orlando Health mission statements and commitment to excellence standards.
• Assesses the patient's physical condition and age specific needs.
• Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desiredresults.
• Performs proper patientidentification,acquires patient's clinical history, and assuresthatthe information is accurately documented.
• Positions patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulatestechnical factorsto achieve high quality imagesfor interpretation.
• Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
• Comprehends and complies with Quality Controlstandards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.
• Administers medical aid as required for any emergency situation.
• Applies appropriate standard precautions and personalprotective equipmentto prevent cross-contaminationof contagious diseases.
• Assists in supervision ofstudent sonographers and training of new sonographers.
• Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
• Ensures safety of all customers.
• Maintainsreasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent withOrlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and otherfederal,state and localstandards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies andprocedures.
Other Related Functions
• Follows established standards of practice for image processing and interpretation.
• Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
• Maintains well stocked and organized work areas.
• May be required to work at any facility
• Provides patient transport.
Qualifications
Experience
One (1) year of experience in sonography. Knowledge of routine and complex ultrasound procedures which may include invasive procedures such as biopsies, amniocentesis, thoracentesis, breast cyst aspiration, breast localization, and knowledge of Doppler, 3D/4D, and pediatric sonography. Routinely demonstrates competency in performing ultrasound examinations pertinent to department.
Licensure/Certification
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certificate.
• Maintains RDMS physics registry and a minimum of two ARDMS registries pertinent to department.
