Software Test Engineer

As a Software Test Engineer, you will be responsible for constructing and modifying test plans for automated electronics hardware design validation testing. You will integrate test plans, test logic, and test hardware to enable long-running automated testing and troubleshoot issues as they arise in design validation test campaigns. Additionally, you will modify existing test software to meet emergent needs related to test execution or troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Construct and modify test plans for automated electronics hardware design validation testing.

• Troubleshoot, root cause, and solve issues in design validation test campaigns.
• Modify existing test software in response to emergent needs related to test execution or troubleshooting.

Essential Skills

• Proficient in Python and object-oriented programming with 5 years of experience.
• 5 years of experience in automated hardware test development and execution.
• 3 years of experience in Linux systems and networking.
• Experience with automated test equipment such as power supplies and digital multimeters.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience in log and data analysis, dashboard creation, and data pipelines.
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git.

The Test Automation Engineering team is a dynamic group within the hardware organization, focused on creating and supporting test automation software infrastructure for hardware and firmware verification and validation across the product lifecycle. The team is composed of highly motivated and skilled software engineers from diverse engineering backgrounds. We build and maintain a scalable, robust, and full-featured automation framework with immediate deployment and testing needs. This role is crucial to the success of the hardware organization as it scales, ensuring effective test deployment, user interface development, sequencing, logging, results and data visualization, and other needs related to automated hardware and firmware verification and validation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Mountain View, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
