Job Description
We're looking for transformational technical leader with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in distributed systems, virtualized infrastructure, and highly available services. We are facing several engineering challenges in critical foundational compute services that power OHAI and the associated its tools and orchestration mechanisms. We need you to challenge existing engineering assumptions and boundaries services that were laid down years ago to scale to our next generation health applications. These are exciting times in our space - we are growing fast, still at an early stage, and working on ambitious new initiatives.
With your superb technical, research and analytical capabilities and demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively to delight our customers, you'll partner with the existing leaders in the organization to drive innovation for Substrate and be a force multiplier for the next generation of engineers on how to take on such projects. You will envision, collaborate with executives for investment and drive the software design and development for new major components of Oracle Health. Making these deep architectural changes calls for an outstanding builder and technical leader with an established industry track record of success in leading large cloud scale projects.
Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable, high-performance cloud services for customers

Create service architectures and contribute to product strategy

Build production automation for hands-off operations

Leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies in solution design

Maintain integration and production systems
-
Partner with architects, engineers, product managers, and executives on product roadmaps
-
Align engineering teams with strategic vision and drive technical consensus
-
Deliver customer-focused solutions on schedule
-
Mentor junior engineers and develop team talent
-
Provide technical guidance to leadership and stakeholders
-
Champion engineering excellence and best practices
Preferred Skills and Experience
-
Exceptional communication skills, technically fearless and a strong product sense with the ability to seek and absorb business context, lead and develop engineering culture, and exhibit good judgement exercised through developed critical thinking.

Deep knowledge of distributed system design and scalable cloud-native application deployment.
-
Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
-
Expert-level systems programming skills.
-
Strong knowledge of C, C++ Experience with formal-verification (e.g. TLA+) a plus.
-
Experience with Rust a plus.
-
Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.
-
Strong understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage and distributed persistence technologies.
-
Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure a strong plus.
-
Strong team player with outstanding communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
-
Comfortable with complex, swiftly evolving software development environments.
-
Ability to drive, follow, evangelize, and improve cross-team processes.
-
Expert knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts and technologies.
-
15+ years' experience delivering and operating large scale, high-performance, highly available distributed systems.

Education
A Bachelors' degree is preferred. An advanced degree is a plus.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $161,700 to $338,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
