Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.

The team owns the core infrastructure and features that help users manage tasks and collaborate, enhanced by foundational AI that simplifies workflows. The team delivers code and features on OSes supported by Chrome (e.g., Linux, Android) and is responsible for prototyping, building, and shipping the intelligent productivity experiences.

We're focused on making a better browser (on both desktop and mobile) to help users take advantage of all the web has to offer in a safe and secure way. Chrome is available across all major platforms iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome OS. We also built Chrome as an open source project so the entire web ecosystem could benefit from the latest innovations in speed, simplicity and security.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in the C++ programming language.
• 3 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, GO, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience designing and implementing multi-quarter projects.
• Experience contributing to open-source projects.
• Knowledge of browser architecture, web standards, and systems design.
• Passion for working with cross-functional partners to create user experiences and solve problems.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and launch new features in Chrome focused on user productivity, collaboration, and organization.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and other engineers to define and build the future of AI-powered browsing experiences.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code in C++, TypeScript, and Java, ensuring high performance and a positive user experience.
• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to a collaborative team culture through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
