In this role, you will leverage your exceptional skills and critical thinking to contribute to a diverse range of signature modeling programs that support agencies such as AFRL, NASIC, LCMC, and more. You will utilize advanced signature prediction tools, including Xpatch and SENTRi, to develop accurate signature models for airborne and ground-based vehicle systems. Additionally, you will create custom signature prediction tools and conduct specialized analyses to support essential customer missions. This position offers unique collaboration opportunities with the pioneers behind industry-standard tools like Xpatch and SENTRi. You will engage with customers, lead and participate in technical project areas, and pursue growth in emerging domains. While most duties require on-site performance due to the sensitive nature of the work, we offer flexible in-office hours and the possibility of remote work for certain tasks.
Primary Responsibilities
- Model and characterize electromagnetic (EM) phenomenology (scattering, absorption, polarization, refraction, diffraction, etc.), particularly in radio frequency (RF) bands.
- Evaluate and characterize radar cross sections (RCS).
- Verify and validate measured data alongside computational electromagnetic (CEM) predictions.
- Generate signature predictions using CEM prediction software (SENTRi, Xpatch, COMSOL, CST, HFSS, Feko, etc.).
- Write and present technical documentation related to development activities.
- Support or lead business development activities by participating in proposal and technical solution development, interfacing with other Leidos divisions for multi-disciplinary capture opportunities.
- Exhibit technical leadership, guiding teams to create solutions for complex technical issues.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience, or a master's degree with 10+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field (Physics, Optics, Engineering Physics, etc.).
- U.S. citizen.
- Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
- Deep understanding of applied electromagnetics with solid skills in EM modeling and experimentation.
- Proficient in CEM prediction software with proven application of simulation tools to characterize EM phenomenology.
- Excellent communication skills and strong commitment to collaborative teamwork to achieve project and team goals.
- Expertise in technical writing, documentation, and organization.
- Capable of leading and being a team member effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to deadlines.
- Proven leadership in guiding small technical teams to resolve complex challenges.
- A self-starter with a drive to develop solutions that meet customer expectations promptly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in a related field.
- Active TOP SECRET clearance is a plus but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with Radar Cross Section (RCS) design.
- Understanding of antenna and radome design principles.
- Familiarity with CAD and meshing.
- Experience in supervisory roles.
- Interest in Business Development.
- Entrepreneurial mindset for collaboration on larger, interdisciplinary projects.
- Basic understanding of or exposure to the following is a plus but not required: Automatic Target Recognition, radar signal processing fundamentals, MATLAB, Python, C++, and high-performance computing (HPC) simulations.
Location: Beavercreek, OH
Pay Range: $126,100.00 - $227,950.00. This pay range is a general guideline only and does not guarantee specific compensation. Factors considered when extending an offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, and other considerations.
