Senior Process / Project Engineer
Located near Purdue University in Lafayette, IN, our large processing facility is seeking a Senior Process/Project Engineer to enhance our plant operations. In this pivotal role, you will be integral in leading day-to-day production activities, spearheading various projects, devising innovative process designs, and providing mentorship to junior engineering staff. This position is ideal for individuals who are eager to directly impact production efficiency and guide a team towards achieving engineering excellence in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Salary: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Direct and optimize day-to-day production outcomes and operational efficiency.
Lead and participate in project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing processes.
Design and improve chemical processing operations for enhanced performance.
Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and professional development.
Assist in preparing detailed proposals and engineering reports, including cost estimates and process transmittals.
Develop innovative solutions and techniques to reduce costs and improve safety in production processes.
Coordinate cross-functional teams within the organization and collaborate with external stakeholders to meet project objectives.
Provide technical oversight and instruction to process operators to ensure compliance with operational standards.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve process-related problems, recommending corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or a closely related engineering field.
At least 5 years of experience in engineering within a process or manufacturing setting.
Proven track record in process design and project management.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with all levels of an organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree in Chemical Engineering or Management.
Professional Engineering (PE) certification.
Experience in a leadership role within a large-scale industrial or manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience with regulatory compliance and safety standards specific to the chemical processing industry.

Skills:

In-depth knowledge of chemical processing operations and engineering design principles.
Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Proficiency in using engineering software and project management tools.
Capability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
