This Mechanical Design Engineer role is based out of our Clinton Clean Energy Center located in Clinton, IL.

Expected salary range is $144,900 to $161,000 based on experience, along with a complete benefits package that includes bonuses and 401(k) contributions.
POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will tackle advanced engineering challenges to support nuclear plant operations. You will make critical technical decisions and have expertise in applying industry codes and regulations. Your role will involve leading engineering efforts while ensuring compliance and safety in all activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct advanced engineering tasks to support nuclear facility operations.
- Perform independent research and analyses for various technical projects.
- Deliver detailed technical support and consultation to enhance plant safety, reliability, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure work accuracy, completeness, and adherence to design standards and practices.
- Actively involve in problem-solving to identify and resolve equipment and systems issues.
- Manage engineering issues and recommend improvements for performance and cost-efficiency.
- Support design modifications, testing, and troubleshooting efforts.
- Maintain compliance with safety analyses, industry codes, and regulatory requirements for all engineering products.
- Oversee functional supervisory activities like personnel management and budget planning.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned, including emergency response duties and support for outage activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Nuclear).
- A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience.
- Proven technical leadership and teamwork capabilities.
- Ability to meet access requirements and pass relevant medical assessments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Professional Engineer (PE) License is a plus.
