Compensation
The anticipated base pay compensation range for this position is $102,300.00 to $170,500.00.

Position Details:
You will lead the operations of a high volume, order fulfillment, multi-shift distribution center. You will provide direct leadership of up to 3 direct reports and indirect leadership to multiple exempt supervisor level and non-exempt employee populations. These teams are responsible for inventory management, quality control, facilities maintenance, contract compliance, and financial profit and loss monitoring.
You will oversee the function to ensure accurate product receipt, order fulfillment, and the optimization of resources and processes while operating within budget. Develop processes to ensure compliance and employee programs to promote an environment where employees are empowered and committed to the success of Grainger.
In the Senior Manager role, you will be responsible for metrics affecting safety, quality, and cost. You will lead by example and teach your direct reports how to improve performance using a variety of continuous improvement techniques. Grainger aspires to be a local employer of choice. You will determine the engagement strategy for the department and leverage the Grainger Principles to influence culture throughout the building.
You will report to the Sr Dir, Regional Distribution and this role is based in our Kansas City, MO distribution center.
You Will:
- Lead teams who work across three shifts daily spanning from early Monday morning through Friday night operating schedules with occasional overtime through the week & on weekends.
- Ensure goals related to operational performance, quality and positive employee relations are communicated and achieved through standardization, sharing of best practices, and continuous improvement.
- Implement staffing strategies so we can fulfill commitments to customers regardless of variations of workflow or business levels.
- Create a dynamic workplace that affects positive employee relationships by developing employee engagement and recognition programs and ensuring all employees are treated fairly, with respect, and have the tools necessary to perform their jobs.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and development to salaried managers this includes interviewing and training, assign and direct work, performance evaluations, and recognition and disciplinary action.
- Develop procedures to improve inventory integrity and manage inventory throughput over $30 $275 million and serving 100,000+ customers across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
- Lead the Facilities Maintenance team who keeps the operating equipment and physical plants well maintained and quickly repaired when outages occur.
- Lead the financial management activities of the Grainger U.S., Grainger Global Sourcing, and Fastener House operations in Kansas City.
- Lead relationship management activities and contract compliance with 3rd party service providers, lease agreements, and other similar activities.
- Implement policies, procedures, and training to ensure compliance with Company, OSHA, DOT and EPA regulations with emphasis on hazardous materials and power industrial equipment to reduce work-related injury/illnesses, property damage and workers compensation cost.
- Demonstrate root cause thinking and lead or advocate for continuous improvement projects within the building and across the DC Network
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, and Operations or equivalent experience
- 5+ years progressively responsible management experience in a high volume, multi-shift operation dealing with large employee populations.
- Experience leading exempt-level leaders in a hands-on environment
