PRIMARY PURPOSE :

To address and handle complex litigated cases involving serious injuries and legal inquiries; to develop strategies to bring cases to satisfactory resolutions within client service instructions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Reviews and acts on reports/forms, responds to inquiries, seeks legal opinion, and communicates resolutions to appropriate parties.
• Responsible for the litigation process on claims and ensures adherence to defense counsel guidelines and service expectations.
• Responds to decisions, agreements, and/or court orders; creates an action plan accordingly.
• Identifies cases for early resolution while gathering and documenting additional information and coordinating with client representatives.
• Identifies issues and formulates defense strategies with the defense team.
• Establishes and adjusts accrued liability and approves legal expenses.
• Identifies subrogation opportunities and tendering processes.
• Attends and participates in mediations, trials, arbitrations, or hearings, typically via ZOOM.
• Coordinates calls with the defense team for strategy discussions and mock openings before trial.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Supports the organization's quality programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing

High school diploma or GED required. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Professional certification relevant to the line of business is also preferred.

Experience
Five (5) years of experience handling litigation, including five years of liability claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

As required by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency in job postings. The range of starting pay for this role is $77,000 - $105,000. A comprehensive benefits package is offered, including medical, dental, vision, 401k and matching, PTO, disability and life insurance, employee assistance programs, flexible spending, or health savings accounts, alongside other voluntary benefits.
