Stantec is currently seeking to add a Senior Environmental Consultant and Siting Regional Lead to join our team in a client-facing role supporting growth in the Gulf Coast Region with a focus on the power industry. The individual in this position will help grow our power practice in the Gulf Coast Region and work with client account managers to expand our services. The Siting Regional Lead is a senior technical and strategic role with expertise in routing, siting, and licensing within their designated region. This individual plays a critical role in project execution and regional growth of the siting team, leveraging strong relationships with Client Project Managers and collaborating closely with Stantec Account Managers to expand the Routing and Siting practice. The Siting Regional Lead is responsible for building and managing high-performing project teams, working with the Siting and GIS Siting Technical leads to successfully deliver routing and siting projects within the region. In addition to regional responsibilities, they also lead projects for clients nationwide, applying their technical knowledge and leadership skills across geographies. The Siting Regional Lead may also serve as a Project Manager or Siting Lead on projects, providing hands-on technical input, guidance and oversight to deliver quality, consistency, and client satisfaction. The Siting Regional Lead may also provide Expert Testimony and serve as a Subject Matter Expert. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing Stantec's market profile and position as it relates to power services within the US Gulf Coast operating region. You will also oversee and direct projects and project teams in a variety of sectors and markets throughout the complete life cycle of projects, beginning in the opportunity identification and pursuit phase. As a senior consultant, you will leverage your technical skills, industry and market knowledge, and client and partner relationships to win and deliver projects to grow the discipline along with other business developers and leadership.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Business Development + Engage directly in identifying, pursuing, and winning projects; lead and participate in proposal preparation.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance Stantec's market position with clients, approval agencies, and industry professionals as an outstanding service provider through coordination with Stantec's marketing team, regional sector leadership, and local technical staff.
• Engage and develop relationships with key industry partners that can help advance Stantec's position in the marketplace.
• Participate in select, high value conferences and seminars and represent Stantec in business, community, and social situations to advance the Stantec brand and maximize exposure of Stantec's subject matter experts.
• Create and maintain internal relationships across Stantec's practices and geographies to promote cross-selling of services.
• Maintain a clear understanding of current and future market and business conditions, revenue and profit potential, and major clients and competitors within the Gulf Region markets with a focus on Florida.
• Project Delivery + This position will support project management and provide technical support for environmental surveying, reporting, and permitting services with a focus on power sector clients in Florida and Gulf Coast Region.
• Collaborate with and manage/supervise a community of staff across various sectors, including but not limited to federal, state, and local clients, power, municipalities, and other industrial clients.
• Identify project-specific environmental design and regulatory requirements for power projects according to the Client's risk management profile, industry precedents, existing guidance, regulations, best practices, and lessons learned, and use that information to inform smart permitting strategy.
• Establish project objectives and procedures and lead teams on proposals, planning studies, designs, due diligence and permitting projects.
• Possess strong business awareness and acumen and maintain a strong understanding of project management fundamentals: project scope, cost, schedule, and quality.
• Grow Stantec's professional relationships with stakeholders and decision makers within key client accounts.
• Grow internal and external networks and identify additional high caliber talent across a range of professional disciplines to join the Stantec team.
• Provide mentoring and training for staff.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Possess strong knowledge of project management and development workflows, applicable regulations, and risk profiles within the Southeast/ERCOT/MISO/SPP and other regions.
• Demonstrate self-motivation possessing excellent communication skills: verbal, business writing, electronic communications, and presentations.
• Display excellent time management skills with the ability to understand project and team goals, roles, scheduling, budgeting, and efficient use of time and resources.
• Exhibit entrepreneurial nature to grow teams and client accounts and ability to lead others to achieve group results.
• Understand state and federal regulations and adapt to client-specific requirements.
• Interpret sketches, engineering drawings, and other similar materials.
• Possess strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills and make timely decisions.
• Review and check the work of others for quality, accuracy and completeness.
• Demonstrate strong mentoring and leadership skills and desire to encourage and coach staff.
• Travel locally, regionally, and nationally as required for proposal and project needs.
• Where lawful, ability to pass a post-hire drug screen (client-dependent).
• Possess valid US driver's license and good driving record.

Education and Experience

• Education: Bachelor's degree in natural sciences, environmental science, or related field from an accredited university required; master's degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 12 years of progressively responsible experience with technical specialization and expertise in cultural resources, environmental compliance, natural resource assessments and studies, and permitting.
• 5+ years' experience in a business development and client relationship management capacity.
• Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency:

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
