Senior Data Engineer | New York City
A top-tier global HFT trading firm is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join its elite Global Data Engineering team. They are specifically building a sub-team from ground up specializing in credit space - this is a rare greenfield opportunity to architect and scale the data infrastructure that will power one of the firm's most strategic trading desks.
This is a high-impact opportunity to work directly with senior leadership to define data strategy, data modeling, and solve complex challenges in real-time data ingestion, modeling, and delivery. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for someone who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments and brings deep experience from the financial sector.

- Design metadata and data lineage systems to track the origin and transformation of every data point.
- Collaborate with traders, researchers, and engineers to understand evolving data needs and deliver scalable solutions.
- Contribute to the architecture of a global data platform that supports increasingly data-intensive strategies.

- 7+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or Software Engineer in a financial services environment (required)
- Strong Python skills with libraries like Pandas, Arrow, and Spark
- Experience with lakehouse architectures (e.g., Delta Lake, Databricks, AWS)
- Familiarity with real-time and historical market data (Credit, ETFs, Equities) is a plus
- Deep understanding of data modeling, API design, and distributed systems
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Able to join within the next 3-4 months
Top-Tier Compensation: base: $150,000 - 200,000 and total package up to $600,000.
