Senior Buyer/Planner

LHH Recruitment Solutions is assisting a client located in Martinez, CA with a contract to hire (Temp to Hire) role for a Senior Buyer/Planner - Finished Goods & Integrated Planning
Employment Type: Contract to Hire (Potential for Permanent Conversion with a Salary of 150K or higher DOE)
Location: On-site at production facility
Hourly: $70-$72
Overview:
The Senior Buyer/Planner role integrates production planning, procurement, and supplier management to support business growth and scalability. This position manages end-to-end planning for raw materials, stock solutions, and finished goods, while fostering supplier relationships and aligning production schedules with business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage supply and production plans aligned with demand forecasts.
- Lead material and production planning within the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Marketing, and Finance.
- Manage purchase orders, supplier performance, and vendor relationships.
- Create and maintain master production schedules and manufacturing orders.
- Conduct daily and weekly management meetings to monitor performance metrics.
- Optimize inventory levels and material flow using Lean methodologies.
- Plan capacity and resource requirements in coordination with manufacturing teams.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and Lean conversion efforts.
- Mentor junior staff and document standard planning processes.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience i n planning, procurement, or supply chain roles.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and advanced analytics tools (Excel/Tableau).
- Experience with Lean methodologies and IBP/S&OP processes.
- Preferred experience in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices).
- Certifications such as APICS/CSCP or Lean are advantageous.
