As a Security Officer specializing in access control within a utilities environment, you will play a vital role in helping to deter security-related incidents by monitoring entrances, verifying credentials, and maintaining a visible presence throughout the location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, assisting visitors and employees with access needs, and providing outstanding customer service while upholding the highest standards of professionalism. This position requires a valid driver's license, as you may be required to drive as part of your duties. Tue 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized personnel and visitors in line with site-specific policies.
• Provide customer service by assisting employees, contractors, and visitors with questions or concerns related to access procedures and site protocols.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols for the utilities environment.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify potential security-related concerns.
• Document and report all access control activities, incidents, and observations according to Allied Universal and client procedures.
• Collaborate with site management and law enforcement as needed during emergency response activities.
• Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unauthorized activities and promote adherence to site rules and regulations.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver's license is required for positions involving driving responsibilities in accordance with Allied Universal Driver Policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
