Essential Job Functions: To successfully perform this job, individuals must be able to satisfactorily execute each essential duty, among others that may be assigned:

• Safely operate front, side, or rear-loading trucks for the pickup of bags or containers filled with waste or recyclable material. Drivers are responsible for transporting materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities, potentially making multiple trips during shifts.
• Utilize both manual and automatic trucks as required.
• Lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly, and manage items up to 100 pounds while mounting and dismounting the truck multiple times during each route.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years old and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Possess a valid Class A or B CDL with an Airbrake Endorsement.
• 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 7 years.
• Maintain a clean safety record and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Prior experience as a driver or helper in a refuse company is preferred.
• Familiarity with DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations is necessary.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, understand highway traffic signals, and accurately complete reports and records.
• Ability to read and understand maps.
• Must meet all physical and safety requirements for the role.
• Available to work required hours as permitted under DOT regulations, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.

Additional Job Requirements:

• Routes may require navigating through congested neighborhoods and confined spaces in urban locations.
• Skilled backing maneuvers are essential for this position.
• Drivers will routinely need to climb in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts.
• Comprehensive pre and post-trip inspections are required; drivers must ensure their trucks comply with safety standards and local traffic laws.
