Temecula Valley Day Surgery is a multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center, licensed by the State of California, certified by Medicare, and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Our center is designed for patients having elective, one-day surgery with no hospital stay. The purpose is to provide a patient-focused approach to outpatients requiring operative, Endoscopy, or Pain service, and to achieve desired quality patient outcomes in a cost-effective manner. Job Summary
We are seeking a part-time Pre-Op/PACU Registered Nurse. This individual provides individualized, goal directed nursing care through the use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing, in accordance with center policies and procedures. Duties include but are not limited to: assessing patient and family needs in order to provide quality care to assigned patients. Evaluating patient's response and intervening appropriately for optimal outcome. Demonstrating ability to clearly communicate instructions to patient and family and appropriately answer questions. Appropriately adapting during rapidly changing pace and managing resources as needed to maintain patient flow. Developing, discussing, and communicating a realistic problem list (plan of care) for each patient, in collaboration with each patient, family, and significant other in order to address all identified needs. Demonstrating the skills and judgment necessary to implement the medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient. Evaluating the identified problems, care provided, and patient's responses are reassessed in order to meet patient and family needs to ensure overall quality of care delivered. Maintaining up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team, in order to ensure quality care. Maintaining current knowledge, certification, and licensure. Pursuing professional growth and development.
Qualifications
Experience/Training/Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the field of nursing preferred. Minimum of two years OR nursing experience required. ASC experience preferred. Certifications/Licenses: Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California required. BLS and ACLS poss. PALS certifications required. Other Skills and Abilities: Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with State and local standards and guidelines. Demonstrates compliance with company policies and procedures at all times. Ability to set priorities and appropriately organize workload and complete assignments in a timely manner. Demonstrates ability to relate to clinical personnel and medical staff, as well as ability to interact well with the public. Must have knowledge of PC and applications. Must have experience is standard office equipment. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Effective interpersonal skills. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area (BSP), circumference and volume. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
